How to change from using one Qualifier to another?

If you want to change one qualifier (e.g. “Except Mounting Brackets”) to another one (“Supplied without Mounting Bracket”), you can simply change the Comment Map to use the correct qualifier, but then you’d need to re-create ACES applications and re-publish. If you need a quick fix so you can get a file out quickly, follow these steps.

To just change the ACES applications, you can:

  1. Open the document

  2. View > ACES Applications

  3. Press Search and wait a while for all applications to appear

  4. Press the Filter button, and select Qualifiers in the dropdown and type “Except Mounting” in the text box, press OK. It should limit to just the applications you want to change.

  5. Edit > Replace…

  6. Select “Except Mounting Brackets” on the “Find” side

  7. Select “Supplied without Mounting Bracket” on the “Replace With” side, keep the “Limit Replacement…” check box checked, and press OK.
