What are some of the Available Reports?
Most of the “Reports” are really designed to be viewed in the application, however, they provide a way to “Export” to a csv file. Here are a list of the system functions that can help in the mapping process:
FOR AAIA LEGACY FILES:
View > Document Statistics:
-
Obsolete Legacy IDs: Shows the source records that use AAIA Legacy IDs that have been “retired”. This is a good indication of how up to date the source file is. These missing IDs will often keep applications from compressing.
-
Legacy Holes: Shows AAIA Legacy rows that are missing from the source file.
-
Legacy Holes (Partial Coverage): Shows AAIA Legacy rows that are missing from the source file, but where there are some corresponding Make/Model/Year records in the source file. This is also a good indication of how up to date the source file mapping is.
FOR ALL FILES:
-
Process > Validate / Check for Overlaps: This screen has two tabs (provided you included the Overlap check). The “Invalid Applications” tab shows applications that were created that are now invalid for some reason. This normally would not happen unless you created a “manual map”.
The “Overlap” tab is very helpful and shows where two or more part numbers would be on a year/make/model without some way of knowing which part to select. These are actually “possible overlaps” since we show anything that might overlap. If you include a “ref” column in your source file, it will show these in the overlap report.
Furthermore, there is a way to show the underlying applications that overlap (you must have the Map Applications screen loaded and then you can right-click on the overlap report to take you to the problem rows)
-
Process > Export Non Coverage: This is an actual report that create two files “csv” files: (1) Any Year/Make/Model that has no coverage, and (2) A “Config” file showing where you have partial (but not complete) coverage. The configurations will show any missing attribute such as valid body styles, etc.
-
Map > Application… Filter for unmapped source records: Using the View > Show Unmapped option on the Map Applications screen will show any source records that did not map to valid ACES terminology. There are many reasons why this might happen. You can use the View > Show Trace Log… to bring up a separate window with details on what did not validate.
-
Reports > Parts…: Produces a simple part report with part description and multiple brands if they are loaded from the Parts Maintenance screen.
-
Reports > Parts Usage…: Produces a buyers guide report where a list of Make/Model/Years (engines) are shown for each part number in the file.
