What is a good batch image conversion program?

We’ve used the open source ImageMagick↗ program in the past, but it can be intimidating for first-time users. Just figuring out which options you need can be a research project in itself.

Another great option is XnConvert↗. It is has a GUI interface, runs on multiple operating systems and does a very nice job.

We especially like XnConvert’s “Automatic Crop”, ability to change color depth (to grayscale), set the DPI and image size and output in different jpeg quality levels. Also, this program is freeware, but we recommend giving a donation if used for production.
