The Project Folder

The installer will create an “AcePrint Projects” folder in your “My Documents” folder (aka “Documents”). It will also create examples in a “Samples” sub-folder.

The AcePrint Projects folder will be set as the default project folder (If another user on the same machine installs AcePrint, a separate AcePrint Projects folder will be created for that user as well).

With this setup, “Open” will automatically open to the AcePrint Projects folder after installation. You can, of course, change the projects folder to wherever you prefer (using File > Options).

Any files selected within the defined project folder will be defined relative to that folder (making it easier to move a project to another machine or location).

Catalog Files

Catalog definitions are saved in files with a special “.aceprint” extension. These files will generally be stored in the “Project Folder” (see above) and should be managed through the program (with Save and Save As).

Be sure to BACK UP YOUR CATALOG FILES using a standard Windows backup solution (or zip and save to a secure location). No versioning is performed on Catalog Files by AcePrint, but they work well with any source code control system such as Git, Mercurial, or Subversion.
