Software Registration

AceViewer runs in a limited Trial mode until it is registered. When you purchase a license, you receive a License Key that looks like the following:

287d3e24-af8e-4f45-99e8-a9e9f1ca1a91

You’ll register that key the first time you start AceViewer (or any time later from Help > Registration…). The activation process talks to the Winsby Group license server and saves a small registration file on the local machine. Once registered, the status bar shows Registered instead of Trial.

What gets registered

Registration is per-machine, not per-user. A single license key can activate multiple machines, up to the seat count provided by your license.

Online registration (the normal path)

  1. Start AceViewer and choose Help > Registration… from the menu.
  2. Paste your license key into the dialog and click OK.
  3. AceViewer contacts the license server, activates this machine, and saves the registration locally.
  4. The status bar updates to Registered.

If the server reports that your license key is for a different product, or that no seats are available, an error is displayed and you can try again with a different key.

When registration expires

If your license expires, AceViewer reverts to Trial mode and the status bar shows Trial again. You can keep using the program, but you’ll need to extend your license to get back to a registered state. The next time you open Help > Registration…, AceViewer detects the expired key on file and offers to launch the renewal checkout page directly — no need to re-enter the key.

Offline Registration (for restricted networks)

The standard activation flow requires an outbound Internet connection to access the registration server. If this isn’t possible or desirable in your environment, AceViewer includes a separate utility to perform an offline registration by exchanging two small files with Winsby Group support — no outbound connection from the customer’s machine is required. See the Offline Registration page for details on this process.
