AceViewer 3.11 Updates

ACES 5.0 support

AceViewer 3.11 adds support for ACES 5.0 XML files. Both BaseVehicle and Make/Year vehicle identification schemes are recognized.

ACES 5.0 introduced renamed elements and new structures, all of which are now handled transparently:

  • Renamed elements such as PartTerminology, PartNumber, VCdbPublicationDate are read from 5.0 files while still showing them in the grid alongside data from 4.2 files.
  • DiagramAsset and NonDiagramAsset elements are supported.
  • Save As now offers the choice between ACES 5.0 and ACES 4.2 output format. The default matches the version of the loaded file, but you can convert in either direction.
  • ACES 5.0 export uses native 5.0 element names and reconstructs the DiagramAsset / NonDiagramAsset structures faithfully.

Equipment vehicles

Equipment-based vehicle identification — EquipmentBase and the Mfr / EquipmentModel / ProductionYears combination — is now supported in both ACES 4.2 and ACES 5.0 files.

VCdb equipment tables (EquipmentBase, EquipmentModel, Mfr) are auto-detected. If you load an equipment-based ACES file against a VCdb that doesn’t include the equipment subscription, AceViewer warns you so you can connect the right database.

EngineBoreStroke

The EngineBoreStroke element is now stored, displayed, and exported alongside the other engine attributes.
