Error Opening an Access Database (.accdb)
When I try to load and Access VCdb, PCdb or Qdb, I get the following error message.
“Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed.”
Some versions of Windows don’t install the Access Database Engine required for accdb files.
Some of our products support both 32bit and 64bit installations. It is important to match the installation of your current MS Office configuration (or your will get a “Provider Not Installed” message when loading Access database files).
If you are using 64bit Office or have installed O365, use the 64bit setup. Otherwise, use the 32bit setup program.
If you don’t have Microsoft Office installed, we recommend installing the 32bit version, after installing the 32bit Access Database Driver (“AccessDatabaseEngine.exe”) from here:

OFFICE 365 USERS
There are several possible O365 editions. If you use the “Web versions”, you won’t have Access installed and it’s okay to install the Access 2010 32bit driver. But if you have Access installed locally, it is probably 64bit (or you wouldn’t have gotten the “provider cannot be found” error).
The “default” install for O365 Desktop apps were 32bit but was changed to 64bit for O2019. This article will tell you how to check which one you have (basically use the About box):
