Updating PIES Reference Tables
PIES Assistant uses the PCdb and PAdb as reference tables to interpret and validate PIES codes. You must subscribe to the PIES standard in order to use these tables.

If you load the most recent PCdb and PAdb before loading a PIES file, that should be sufficient in most cases.
Where that could be a small problem is if a code in the PCdb or an attribute in the PAdb is dropped. This doesn’t happen often, but did happen when the PCdb dropped several description codes (ASM, KEY and SLA).
If a code or an attribute is not in the most recent PCdb or PAdb, PIES Assistant will not be able to include the description for that code or attribute on the screen or in exports. It will still display and export the dropped code or attribute id, and validation will present the dropped codes as errors.
