What History Information is Maintained?
PIESCentral maintains only enough history to produce a net change PIES file. Hereβs what is maintained:
-
Part Items are never removed. In PIES an Item is never deleted. If it becomes obsolete, it is assigned an appropriate Life Cycle Status Code.
-
Price sheets are never removed but may be updated.
-
Prices on a price sheet are never removed but may be updated.
-
If a value for a particular element changes, the old value is not retained. The record is updated with the new value and marked as changed.
For example if the Minimum Order Quantity changes, the Item record is updated with the new quantity, and the Item record is marked as changed, the old Minimum Order Quantity is no longer available.
This applies to elements within price sheets and price sheet prices. It a price is changed on an existing price sheet, that price is updated and the old price is not retained.
