Unable to manually run a scheduled publication

When I go to Publish > Scheduled Publications and try the “Run Now” button on a scheduled export, I get the following error:

“No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:9999”

It works when I let it run automatically.

Answer:

In the Start Menu, see if you have a folder under PIESCentral for Launch. If not, the service necessary to run a scheduled process directly from PIESCentral is not installed on the client machine. If you do see that folder, run Launch Configuration. It should show Port = 9999, MaxProcess=1 (or maybe 2), Program Name=“PIESCentral”.

The Program should be set to PIESCentralLoader.exe. If the Start button is enable, click Start to run the server. Then try running a process from PIESCentral.
