What is an MPCC?

MPCC, which is the Manufacturer Part Classification Code is the lowest level classification as part of the PCC Hierarchy presently being used as one of the means to classify part numbers.

MPCC defines the many different ways in which a particular part type (ie PCC) can be positioned as well as the different suppliers from which a part can be sourced. A Unique MPCC per Supplier-position combination(if applicable) can be found in the PCC Hierarchy with respective parts linked to it.
