What Causes Mapped (PartsPro) Applications To Be Dropped?
There are several conditions that cause a mapped application to be “dropped” (and so must be re-mapped using “Automap” from the Map Applications screen).
-
When importing a new vehicle table, application maps are deleted whenever there is a change to a vehicle configuration identified by model and year. For example, if the NAPA vehicle table has a configuration change for 2000 Mustang, all 2000 Mustang application maps will be deleted. Also, any source applications that are mapped to the 2000 Mustang will have their application maps deleted.
-
When importing a comment table, if a used comment is removed, applications that use that comment will be deleted. This would be very rare. (We don’t know if NAPA ever deletes a comment.)
-
When a model, engine or comment map is changed, all application maps that rely on that model, engine or comment map will be deleted.
-
When a new map is added to an existing model, engine or comment map, application maps will be deleted for only the current document. The new map, at the time it is added, is only checked “USE” for the current document.
-
When the “USE” check is changed for a model, engine or comment map, application maps will only be deleted for the current document. Checking or unchecking “USE” does not affect other documents.
To minimize deletes in other documents, consider whether the model, engine or comment map that needs to be changed is incorrect and must me corrected for all documents. If the map needs connections for comments just for the current document, add a new map just for that document and uncheck “USE” from the map that you don’t want to use.
