Package GTIN from UPC

If you have a 12 digit UPC for the part, you can create a Package Level GTIN for the “EA” package level by padding the 12 digit UPC with 0’s. The first digit of the 14 digit package UPC represents the package type as follows:

 0 - Consumer Level Package (Each)  
 1 - Inner Level Pack (non-shippable)  
 3 - Inner Level Pack (shippable)  
 5 - Case  
 7 - Pallet

Using the first character as above was only a suggestion and is no longer enforced in the H15 PackageUOM element (since PIES 7.0).
