How do I publish flat files from PIESCentral?

If you want to send a “flat file” (rather than the PIES xml file) to some of your customers, you should use the “Table” feature in PIESCentral.

Go to the Publish > Documents… screen. You will see a button for defining “Tables” for the selected Document (under the Add / Edit / Delete buttons).

When you press “Tables…”, it will bring up the Table Export Maintenance screen. You can “Add…” a table (flat-file definition) and then add column definitions for that table layout. (Make sure the Export check box is selected).

Then, when you “Publish…”, you can choose whether or not to include these Tables in the output (by checking Export Tables).

If what you want is to deliver everything in a PIES file in Excel (or Access), you can import the file into PIES Assistant↗ and export to Excel. That will give each segment on a separate worksheet.
