How Do Scheduled Processes Provide Error Notifications

PIESCentral Loader creates a log file at a location specified in the setup. The log file is essentially the same as the log created when the script is run in PIESCentral.

If for some reason the loader is unable to create the log file or if an error occurs before the log is opened, it writes an error to the Event Log on the server. It also sets the status of the process to “Failed”.

The status can be viewed on the process maintenance screen. It does verify all data sources prior to beginning the load. If any of the data sources are missing it quits immediately.
