How to submit and receive pending comments to NAPA

The process works like this:

  1. Add a Pending Comment. If you can’t find an existing comment to use in a comment map, press the “Add Pending Comment” button at the bottom of the “Find Napa Comment” Screen. Modify your comment as desired and press OK. This will add the comment with a temporary Comment ID (a very large number).

  2. Export Pending Comments. Use the File > Export pending comments menu to bring up a Save Dialog. Give it a filename like “ACME Pending Comments 2014-04-10.csv” and press OK. This csv file contains two columns for the Pending Comment ID and Pending Comment Text (without a header row). This file should be sent to NAPA. (Note that only comments that are attached to PartsPro mapped applications will be included in the export. This allows you to create pending comments as soon as you find them without concern that NAPA might remove them due to non-use).

  3. Update Pending with Assigned. NAPA will return a file with their Comment Text and a Comment ID. Use the File > Update pending comments menu to import the received file and apply the new IDs. Update Pending Comments will automatically update any pending comments that match exactly. For those that do not match you can manually pair them up and either update the database immediately or create a file that can be imported using Import Pending Options.
